Update November is the National Novel Writing Month (nanowrimo) and the challenge is to write 50,000 words in 30 days.

I finally finished 15 chapters (appox. 55,000 words) of my new novel CADDO GIRL
today and received my 2011 winner badge. YEAH!!    (Update: I changed the name of this novel to Shadows of Home, and it is now available in ebook and paperback format. )

It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Life kept getting in the way of my plan. But perseverance paid off -- or maybe it was just plain stubbornness. :-)  But Nanowrimo was the push I needed to get going. It's funny how we often need that little outside push to make the time to do something we want to do anyway.

How about you? Are you guilty of procrastinating on something you want to do? To write? To learn? To travel? To volunteer?

There are so many demands on our time that it is easy to forget to make time for ourselves, especially in this holiday season. So, when you make that New Year's Resolution List, be sure to include time for yourself and your heart's desire, whatever that may be.

Best wishes,
Deborah
