There are so many things to celebrate this week; it's hard to know where to start. School is starting up again and my son is starting his
FINAL semester in college. He's also starting his new part-time job working in   an electronics department (a dream job for a gadget and tech savvy   twenty-something).

It is also time once again to add another candle to my cake. I must admit I have always liked pie better. So we will have a "birthday pie" instead of a cake. (Not that my hips need either one) Although the candles are adding up too fast, I am comforted by that lesson from the porch that reminds us we’re either getting older or we're dead. So, pass me that candle.  :-)

And my biggest news is that Breaking TWIG is FINALLY available in paperback. Yeah! Since many  who have asked for a paperback format are also in book clubs, I have included a  Reading Group Discussion Guide in the paperback. I’ve had a busy start to the summer with family and friends coming from Texas to visit us in our beautiful Montana valley. I suspect they were looking for a
little relief from that Texas heat and humidity. It’s nice to get out of the air conditioning sometimes and be able to sleep with the windows open. There’s also  a soft rain falling tonight, so that makes it twice as sweet.

For  those who have requested a printed version of Breaking TWIG, I wanted to let you  know the paperback is being proofed now, and I hope to have it available later  this month. And yes, it will include the reading group discussion guide for book
clubs.

 The Kindle ebook version of Breaking TWIG is free, July 1. Hi y’all,

It seems May is a month of celebrations. In addition to the
birthdays (my son and brother's), graduations, Mother’s Day, and the Memorial
Day holiday, this month has many lesser known, but equally deserving holidays
to celebrate. For example, did you know May was Family Wellness Month
and National Military Appreciation Month? 

Being from the Gulf Coast, I especially want to mention that May
is American Wetlands Month and give a special shout out to Capt. Wendy at
bayouwoman.com for all her work in helping restore and protect the wetlands of
southern Louisiana. 

In May, we also have National New Friends, Old Friends Week: 15-21.
It’s the perfect time to reconnect with an old friend and reach out to a
new one. Eliza Doolittle Day is May 20th (for our cousins across the pond),
and we can’t forget May is also National Barbeque Month,in honor of all
grill-masters everywhere, especially Nathan, my husband and griller
extraordinaire for almost thirty years.
